Impressive? Sure, but does not hold a candle to the speed of the ECC (Error Correction & Control) RAM (Random Access Memory). I told you I was building a monster. It will smoke anything sold at Leveno at $15,000.00. Did I mention my CPU is overclockable? I have no desire to do so, I watched ue-theme builder build more themes in less than 1 and a half minutes. More than 5 times faster than an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X. No not in RAM and no not on raided NVMES. It is probably beyond 10-fold at that point.

The fastest computer I have ever had the privilege to sit behind. I am still not done. I broke the SATA Power connector off one of the 4 X 14TB enterprise hard drives & lost 56TB of data, do not worry the server has a backup of all info. I will just order a new 14TB drive and pull all the data off the network.

Do you think the raided NVME’s are fast? When RamBooter says 29.4 GB a sec, it means 29.4GB a sec read and write speed. Faster than 9 NVMES raided. Rambooter is about to come off the chain. The Steam Deck is Quad Channel RAM, do you see where I am going? If you play with fire, you will get burnt. I did try and help Steam, now you will deal with me. I am not a developer, right? I have got you. Steam what were you thinking? Because I don’t make games? What I am developing is no game. I am happy as a lark to see it POST (Power On Self Test) for the first time. I will have to build it up, drives etc. I don’t even have a keyboard hooked up yet lol. Yes, I do see it complaining about insufficient power. It has a 1300 Watt power supply. I will have to move one of the 12 volt EPS rails to a higher slot. That board will take up to 3 of them and 2 X 12 volt six pin connectors. Just the CPU alone will suck up 280 Watts. Currently, I have not seen it in action, rest assured it is coming.

Just wanted to share the good news. That build scared me. Just because of the amount of money involved. I am so happy to see it post. I hope to never build one again. I just ate it and ordered another 12 Volt EPS cable. I will not run it w/o it. I do not know if they shorted me a cable or if I lost it. Took me a year to build it. A lot can happen in a year.

In case you think I can put a regular ThreadRipper on the board, nope only will take a Pro. What is the difference between a ThreadRipper and a Pro? Twice the money? Took 2 years before I could build one. Leveno was evidently exclusively licensed to be able to do that. VERY expensive. The current 3995wx is very expensive. A next gen is about to drop & cut that in half. Just the CPU is over 5 grand. 128 Lanes of bandwidth, not 88. I do not play games, could I? I hope so. Did you know a few days ago some Ingenious fella dropped 2 of those chips on an AMD Epyc mainboard and set a new world record. They are not supposed to be able to do that. I am sure the Gigabyte leak allowed them to learn how to.

128 Lanes of PCIE 4.0 connectivity was the #1 reason I left ThreadRipper and went Pro. On a desktop I have always struggled, that is gone. Ancient history. I am writing software to boot from RAM, a no brainier per-say. An Epyc or a ThreadRipper Pro. The ThreadRipper is quad channel. Same as the SteamDeck that is coming. A ThreadRipper Pro is 8 channel. Think about that, for just a minute. They were stupid. Watch! I do make a gaming O/S right? I will screw them up, mine will be free.

IF I licensed it to them, I will charge asshole tax. I can promise you, they do not know what I know. Even my beta testers do not know. Yet! You would think this Intel Adler Lake is coming. Soon Intel will be back on top. Not even worried. I am in a class they can not even touch. They are trying to grab back mindshare. The Top as I just showed you is where the money is. NASTY!!! I have started buying one. An expensive venture. I have currently only bought a Computer case, PSU (Power supply), RAM (Minimum it will take 4 sticks & paid more then that), liquid Cooling for the CPU Current tally ~$1,400.00 I do not have a mainboard or CPU yet, video card for that matter. I plan on getting a Liquid cooled Video card too, no not 4 of them. I play games rarely. I do have 4 NVMES I can shove in one PCIE 4.0 slot it that will save me a grand & transfer 16GB a sec. I could do that times 5. Just one slot. The bandwidth they have is absolutely massive. That absolutely Crushes anything Intel has, yes that includes their servers. If I were to buy a processor from AMD $4,700 for just the CPU. That will change in one month. September AMD will drop the 5000 series ThreadRipper. I am sure even faster, same token will cut the chip I want in half. Yes, still alot of money. I am writing Multi-core processing technology. If I fully populate the RAM, quad channel. Faster then the NVMES I will drop in it, I am ignoring the money. As I said over a grand. Ram booter will crush that. If what AMD offers in the 5000 series is compelling. I may drop the money for it.

That is a Miniforums HX99G if you want to build your own or Amazon (no I am not a sponsor). I have shut down the ThreadRipper Pro. What? Hear me out, the ThreadRipper Pro has a 1,300 Watt PSU (Power Supply Unit). Like running a microwave 24/7. Power Hog. This little Mini PC uses Laptop parts and overvolts them in innovative design. AMD is meticulous to watch temps & throttle the chip. Well, this unit has liquid metal cooling, so does not overheat and is whisper silent.

My QNAP NAS (Network Attached Storage) is much louder, lacks the CPU to even move files at 20 Gigabit and I hate it. I have lost 70 Terabytes 3 times! Raid 5 – 9 Drives 5 X 14TB (51TB usable) and 4 X 2TB SSDs for cache, every time the firmware updates I am reformating / re-loading it. I may buy the fourth one to build an NVME-based NAS. It does have dual USB 4 ports capable of 40 Gigabits per second each (more on that later). What is the third one for? I am getting ahead of myself. I bought the first one for the Wifey & told her if you do not want it I would pay for it and would be mine. She loved it and has been paying me back. Damn, buy another one for you. That is the current situation.

What makes it so special TheeMahn? I am not going to recreate the wheel, it has been reviewed multiple times. It is a nasty tiny unit. I do want to take the time to point out it does have an APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) Integrated Graphics if you will on the CPU, however, I turned that off in the BIOS, why? Because it also has a discrete GPU (Graphical Processing Unit) aka Dedicated Graphics. Slow, I do not think so. Almost as soon as it arrived here I did buy 2 X 4TB NVME’s for it and upgraded it which was a breeze. Re-installed Windows 11, which was a pain in the ass with no internet. Windows 11 did not know what 2.5 Gigabit networking was or Wireless 6E was, which sucked.

Ultimate Edition Arch to the rescue. Picked everything up just fine, and used it to download drivers for Windows 11. Dual boot welcome aboard. Installed flawlessly.

I have played the game Starfield on it with Ultra settings at 4K with AMD FSR 2.0 and is buttery smooth. I really think most people are underestimating this MiniPC.

Current Issues? I did say I would open your eyes to 40 Gigabit. My entire house has 80 Gigabit Fiber Fiber Optics aka SFP+. They do make a converter USB 4 to SFP+, a single 10 Gigabit converter is $399.00, $900.00 for dual 10 Gigabit. USB 4 is a 40 Gigabit port, which should be spit, it is an emerging technology.

Yes, I did upgrade the RAM too and dropped in 2 X 32 GB DDR5 5600 sticks – Kingston Fury easy peasy. Very beneficial to an APU. I wanted the RAM space, not the video performance. AMD now has them coming out with a faster APU & RAM. Intel may be in deep shit. Those are Laptop parts (the bottom of the stack). If a tiny PC dropped my ThreadRipper Pro offline, can you imagine what is at the top of the stack? I mean at the server level. That is why I am an AMD man. After running it for a month, the first thing I saw was my electric bill cut in half. I still have the ThreadRipper Pro if I need it I will use it.

Deception? I did bring that up, right? Surely a 780M is faster than the 680M in my mini PC, right? It sure is. How about the 6800M discrete graphics card? That is why it is “Special”, sure I will pay extra. Emerging technologies are slower than what I have. Do your due diligence and research before you buy anything. If I opened just one person’s eyes. I did my job. I planted a seed. At the same token, I can promise you RAM speed is not going to slow down, with APU traumatic effects will transpire.

JackTheRipper is w/o a doubt the fastest computer I have ever seen. Quite an endorsement coming from me. I have been writing a re-write of RepoStorm. I can promise you I did not convert one Application at a time to Arch Linux. I wish I had the ThreadRipper pro up would take seconds. I suppose I should tell you why I don’t have the Ripper up. The Power supply only has 2 X 8 pin 12 Volt EPS rails & the mother board has 3 slots for it… 2 six pin on top of that & 2 to the video card… That was a $400 PSU (Power Supply Unit). 1,300 Watts Titanium & not enough? It made me pull my balls out. I have never built a Threadripper in the past. I have built thousands of computers.

I did get it to power up, but not POST (Power On Self Test). Can you imagine burning up $15,000.00 worth of hardware? Like crashing a car at the push of the button. I am being meticulous. I do have what I need, just not plugged in right. 1,500 watts is recommended. I have just the basics in it, it should have came up. I found out one of those 8 pin EPS ports is “Primary” without it will not come up. Once I see it come up I will drop 11 NVMES in it and 10 Hard disks. I may have to buy a larger PSU. Just purchasing the chip & the E-bike took me from Excellent credit to Good credit (lost 43 points in one day). It was expensive. I will bounce back.

Almost $7000.00 in the hole. 0% APR, it will go away. 4 days from now I will get a raise & still not top pay. This I think is funny, if I hand you $1,200.00 a month, they do not complain. The first card is O.K with $300.00 a month as they are watching me crush the first card, no payment due. They can see my finances. What do you think will happen when the first card is gone? Why am I doing this?  Steam pissed in my Wheeties.  When I am done the Steam Deck will run Ram-booter.  I do not think Steam really knew who I was.  I told them I was a developer, well he does not develop Games.  You are right.  I can promise Steam will wish they never screwed with me.

That is Single channel DDR4 Memory & is about six times as fast as a NVME. The Steam Deck is quad channel memory & LPDDR5. Do you see where I am going? When I am done it will be faster then my current rig. I am sorry they blew me off. I want you to think about this, I am running that application in Arch Linux. WTF were you thinking? I build Operating Systems & have for over 20 years. Your Steam deck uses Arch Linux. Took me one day to port my software to yours. You are fucked.

That is all I will say right now. Last check I am TheeMahn. What will happen tomorrow? I have a ThreadRipper Pro coming up tomorrow. I can promise you that you are hit in the mouth. I did offer to sell you my software. Now I will incorporate in an O/S I build & wipe you out. Mine will be free, and pretty hard to fuck with. Do you think I care about money? You are now screwed.

It is already in the works & just a matter of time. I do like Arch Linux, minus the learning curve. The same O/S Steam Deck uses. I could completely replace the O/S, why not do both? According to the info tool in Ram Booter will only be 5 times faster. I can’t wait to see ram-booter run on the ripper. It has 13 NVME’s won’t matter. I do not care if I had 50 NVME’s all raided, where does that data traverse? Through RAM. I just cut it out. The closer you get to the CPU the faster things get.

I did have to order it 3 times, but a ThreadRipper Pro 5975WX is coming. That is the latest Gen ThreadRipper Pro Zen 3 Architecture. 32 core 64 Thread Monster. That is just the chip, I already have had the rest for over a year in total. Did you know it smokes even the fastest CPU money can buy in Gaming minus the AMD 5900X3D. AMD Ryzen 7000 series is coming in September. In Intel Land, there is absolutely ZERO that can touch it and I mean even in the server area. The chip is classified as an HEDT (High-End Desktop) or Sworkstation, they are NASTY. I do write software to boot from RAM. On the ThreadRipper Pro will be 8 channels. The Steam Deck is a quad Channel. I did offer to help them. We will talk about Steam deck at the end.

I did not buy it to play games I can assure you of that. Expensive sure, fast? Phenomenally. I do write software for multi-core or Parallel processing software. Get ‘r done.

I went to Amazon to check on whether it had been shipped it has not thanked God. Had customer support call me. Found it on Amazon’s website $500.00 less. They canceled it without me canceling and restarting the process. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Those drives are filling BTW. 1/2 a GB a second across the network. Dual 10 Gigabit Fiber. They will drop in the ThreadRipper Pro. Most people do not understand just how fast they are. In Linux I do not deal with schedulers. Windows is poor in its support of a chip of that caliber. It is almost like an Epyc, faster in most cases.

The first Intel chip I see is almost $9000.00 and it is way below what is coming. If you look at the money, I probably made the best decision, however if money was no object should have waited until September 15th. I am sure they will drop the 5995WX, you can get them on EBay for $9,999.00 used. I hate price gougers.

They evidently are not going to release the top dog chip the ThreadRipper Pro 5995WX until September 15th. MSRP on that chip? $6500.00. I have waited a year to the day. I will take what I can get. I already have had the rest. Funny, I was reading that link & Steam sent me a link to buy my steam deck. Ironically Steam deck shut down my ability to buy a steam deck today. I did file a support ticket. We will see how that goes. They only gave me 72 hours to buy it. I do work. $3500.00 does not sound so bad now does it, yes you have to pay the tax man. Both are coming.
