Ultimate Edition 3.4?
What is Ultimate Edition 3.4? Ultimate Edition 3.4 was built off Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin. All updates fully updated / upgraded old kernels purged, new initrd and vmlinuz rebuilt. Ultimate Edition 3.4 is what 2.6 series was a stable enviornment. I am not trying to steer you away from Ultimate Edition 3.4 it has a multitude of advancements over any 2.6 counterpart. Gnome, the default environment is rock solid. Ultimate Edition 3.4 has a new GTK/3 theme & a comprehensive set of software packages. I have really placed thought and dilligence into what this product is. This is no Ultimate Edition 3.2, while I had initial good feed back on. I developed Ultimate Edition 3.2 to showcase new and upcoming technologies, not as a stable platform.
Ultimate Edition 3.4 takes things to a whole new level. It was developed with stability in mind, sorry KDE users, we will catch you in Ultmate Edition 3.5. This O/S will be my primary O/S for some time to come. That statement alone says alot for my feeling on this opperating system.
03/10/2013:
What is Ultimate Edition 3.4 Lite? If you liked Ultimate Edition 2.6 series of O/S’s this is the Ultimate Operating system for you. Ultimate Edition 3.4 Lite is solid Gnome 2, not Gnome 3, no KDE, and No Unity.
I absolutely adored Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (long term supported) is based on Gnome 2 or should I say was, will be dead in a month. I started as a base a mini Ubuntu mini rip 12.04 (less then 200MB) loaded in Repomaster (now called repostorm) as the name was stolen from me. Repostorm was set as a service and began building forward. I did see errors slip through and will enhance Repostorm to catch and repair those as well in the future. Over 90% of errors gone from the rip. Did I say a rock stable O/S? Let me say that one more time rock solid and stable O/S.
I have tried mint, err mate. No matter how perceptive you feel it going in the wrong direction they have chose calling every application a mate based application, this is a big negative & counterproductive. Updates I want for core applications not some fork or derivative. Let the developers of application #1, #2 do their work, why restrict advancement? I have reverse engineered mates work to make just straight Gnome 2, no Ultimate Edition eye of mate. No Caja, we will have nautilus (greatly enhanced off the rip). No Marco… A Metacity replacement, Metacity is not broke why “fix it”, the list goes on.
I have ripped and replaced a majority of the under pinnings of mate to bring you a Gnome 2 enhanced Ubuntu 12.04 (built from the core) LTS Gnome 2 base with updates from the core. 90% Repostormed. As the Repostorm tool advances there will be no other O/S. Foremost, I am preceptive of the previous sentence as a fact and do not want to explain how it is I know that, just know I have seen things most have not with my own eyes. I do not want you thinking I am w/o knowledge on this subject. The developers of Lintian. I have spoke with, their concern “false positives”. Well, who am I? Last time I checked TheeMahn & have big shoulders. I am still human and prone to error, no-one is perfect right? The snipits of source I shared with them, only opened more and more questions of how I handle condition A or B.
The Lintian developer I spoke to, spoke of terminology even I had never heard of as far as packaging. They wanted me to continue my work to catch the errors before they enter at the source code level. In the future a possibility. Oh yeah speaking of Repostorm, it is being patented, not copywritten. Soon may be in all of your hands for free. I want it patented so Other O/S’s can’t use it, free to the people. I have had companies take software I have written and call it thier own. Well beyond the scope of this post.
Enjoy,
TheeMahn
