Ultimate Edition 2.7 Already?

Ultimate Edition 2.7 already? Well no, but don’t think we are slacking. The release of Ultimate Edition 2.6 has shattered previous monthly download records in days.

Nothing wrong with a little sneak peak right? Sorry the screen appears so wide I run dual monitors. The left side is Ultimate Edition 2.7 installing in a virtual machine. The right side is my desktop. Yes, I have installed it just working out a few kinks.

No, I am not going to give a deadline for it’s release. Just know it is coming. We have also added a page for donors. Get your name on the list before 2.7 is released 😉

      hi steven,

      can u tell me where u got the login? i tried using sourceforge & a couple of mirrors, 1 from Duesseldorf & the other from Sweden. All 3 of them (incl the main sourceforge site) give me a md5sum like this :

      should be:

        To alvinh …I am not sure why you are having trouble. And I am sorry for the delay. There is a list of the downloads..all of them..perhaps you may want to ask on the forum. I am still faily new at this..however..since I have been downloading with Uget..and then making a USB boot..I have little problems. For a long time I did not know my burner was broken. It does everything else..except burn ISO`s. I see what you are saying…you must go down the kist and see which one is right for you..I use 64 bit..86..I think is for 32 bit.Check it out.
        Here is the 64 bit link..it should pop right up.

          Hi steven, so sorry for the late response. ach, now i c y u don’t c the same prob s i! i was trying 2 download 32-bit.

          Anyway, i tried using the alternative mirror, linux-freedom,

          previously, this was hosting 2.4 although it claimed to be hosting 2.6. They have since fixed it & md5sum matches. i’ve since installed 2.6 & it’s up & running fine, Thanks v much

            I am glad you sorted things out alvin …that happened to me a couple of times.Then I realized i was downloading the wrong one.
            When I was downloading alot of them …like Debian…it is difficult to download the correct one.Now I stay with Ultimate Edition…it works for me. And i dont have time to try any others right now.But if I were you …and you dont have to listen to me. 2.7 is on the way…if you want to install it…you can probably divide your partition with 2.6…i always use the entire disk lately..I collect things I want to a usb stick…and install the latest…I also have Ubuntu 10.4 on a usb..but i actualy dont need it.Thank God for USB`s ! 🙂

          GREAT OP SYS one of the best i have seen.I love all the included system tools and options.I am running 32bit ue2.6 and 64 bit on my laptop.I don’t have the kind of equipment you have but i build my owne with what i can get and really appreciate such an awesome design.was trying to download and install gamer 2.6 kept having problems saying my disc was bad.It would run virtually off Cd but when i tried to install it would get to 30% and say bad Cd and stop.so i just down loaded the ue2.6 run perfect with quick and easy install.can i get the same game packs off gamer for my ue2.6s? If you need more game testing let me know i would like to contribute to this killer system.

            If you need more testing for games and programs let me know I am currently enrolled in college for networking specialist degree but in my off time i could contribute info and testing for the Ultimate Ubuntu.I have a network of 13 computers setup shareing media games and files on my gigabit network with 4 windows computers 2 Ultimate ubuntus and several linux mint pc’s.I do need some tweeking of the graffix drivers though when i tested my sytem it was showing problems P4 2.8 gig ht 1
            gig ddr and 250 wd 2500 hd gforce 6800 ultra graffix card.The other UE is a gateway nv53 with duel core Athelon2 m300 @2000 with 4gigs ddr2 with ATI MOBILITY Radeon HD 4200 graffix and wd 500 gig sata2.this system when i activate the ATI/AMD proprietary driver FGLRX When it reboots it has no dysplay so i have to revert back to generic.can you help?My email is xxjoker21xx@yahoo.com

    Hi my name is Ayr from Brazil (south). Congratulations for your good work.If you is possible please think about include in the next edition a good software of maps “GRASS” and maybe one about GPS (merkator). Many people would like to use and the spectrum of users will be grow much more.
    But is just a suggestion. I really appreciate Ultimate Edition and I will continue send some money when I could.Thank you and regards

      I am unfamiliar with the software you speak of, but will personally view it. It will not make 2.6 gamers it is uploading as I type this. UE 2.7 a possibility. I have uploaded both 2.7’s for “Testing” we are not close to a release there yet. 50 + fellas are running it trough the ringer, I do strive for perfection. I have already had 3 issues reported, none my fault. Wouldn’t you like me to fix them before you see it.

      Not saying it is my job to fix others work. I am willing to do so.

      Thank god, this is a comment not a post 😉 This will not be viewed as the homepage is. I try to stay out of the limelight.

      Can I share something with you? I released the debs that built UE to admin this eve, why? I am all about education & progression of nix. 4 months work shot in a second.

    UE rocks, thanks for the hard work! I used it for 1 hour yesterday and felt compelled to donate! (even got my name in the donors list!!)
    I have a suggestion; I’d like to have an option to completely remove OpenJdk in order to install Sun Java… I tried to remove it, but synaptic says it will remove the entire UE2.6 ??
    Thanks once again for the best Ubuntu I’ve used!

    necesito que me den una solucion, tenia instalado el ubunto ultimate 2.6 y lo actualize a 10.04 y ahora resulta que no me funcionan ninguno de los puertos, ni USB, ni PS2, MI PC estas paralizada por esto.

      Amigo, le paso el mismo aca!
      Lo que puedes hacer és solo poner el disco de Ubuntu Lucid e actualizar o volver el disco del Ultimate para que puedas usar la computadora.

      la actualizacion de mi Ubunto 9.10 para LUCID resulto en daño a mi computadora también.

    I am Brazilian I would like to congratulate the creators of this immense
    project.

    I would suggest that in future releases, I include a software
    (Script) that leaves the Brazilian Ubunto normal very good: It is called
    “Script of Ubuntu Perfeito” Mr HAMACKER. It contains fine Adjustments
    for Ubunto and can download-upgrade all the packages / programs. Valley

    I would like to participate in some way to improving the same and
    SPASH put the screens are a bit loaded, but is more

      You have no clue how close to 2.7 we are 😉 It is uploading, to a new place. The “Test” of UE 2.7 I last released was hacked and taken. Not a final I mind you what I am uploading will be. I am thinking 0 testing with exception of “in house” / local beta testers. I am sorry that things have had to come to this. It only takes 1 person to screw it up for the others.
