I would like to have released Ultimate Edition 3.7 to you this weekend. I have alot going on as well, feedback from Ultimate Edition 3.7 has made it make a turn for yes you will wait. I have been working forward. Ultimate Edition 3.6 was downloaded 22,000 times in a week from sourceforge alone and I must honestly say my worst incarnation. There are alot of issues in what will be Ultimate Edition 3.6 to Ultimate Edition 3.9 and that is for sure. I have now found the bug / issue however I can not change it upstream.
One would like to think if you fix it here the issue is gone, not the case. It is a network based bug in resolvconf or networkmanager, not apparent other then in chroot. Once again no internet is a “Showstopper”. Massive changes between 12.04 to 13.10 (UE 4.0) which the video below demonstrates.
I have purchased a new domain for our donors after Godaddy tried to extoritionate us.
Apps to re-write and bugs to crush, I almost love my job 😉 To be honest with you, I would like to skip Ultimate Edition 3.6 straight through 3.9 and release Ultimate Edition 4.0.
I typically don’t ask for feedback in this area, unload the big guns on me. Do you know I have been told my beta’s are better then most final releases from the “others”
Toys under the hood

I wrote an article about a few programs that are "Under the hood" in virtually all versions of Ultimate Edition Linux. I have also re-uploaded Ultimate Edition 3.6 Lite x64 reduced it’s size to a CD, sorry about that & released Ultimate Edition 3.6 – The Full Monte. 57 of you got a corrupt download, you were downloading it while I was uploading it.
I have been diligently working on Ultimate Edition 3.7. I am unsure if I will have it done by this weekend, stay tuned. Those of you that are having problems installing UE 3.6 please check here first.

Ultimate Edition 3.6 Lite

Ultimate Edition 3.6 Lite is final today (over 100 builds were involved). Hopefully Ultimate Edition 3.6 Full next week, Ultimate Edition 3.7 the week after. I intend to get caught up one way or the other, no promises 😉

I have taken the time to upgrade Ultimate Edition 3.4.1 to Ultimate Edition 3.4.2 x64 / x86 a Long term supported (LTS) release as well as Ultimate Edition 3.5.1 to Ultimate Edition 3.5.2 x64 / x86. This also includes Ultimate Edition 3.4.2 Lite x64 / x86. 250 to 350 upgrades & a few new apps / themes to each respectivily.
Our Ultimate Edition Copy account is officially open for business, there is over 300GB of Operating systems, themes and software availible for download, thanks to our users and Baracuda Networks the new Operating Systems are also availible on Sourceforge. I uploaded 12 ISO’s (40GB) in less then 24 hours; thanks poweruser2600 & Road Runner Ultimate 😉
The beta of Ultimate Edition 3.6 I have fixed all issues that have been pointed out to me. I had intended to also upload it this weekend and ran short on time. Expect it sometime next week, I have a Lite version of Ultimate Edition 3.6 at CD size first time since Ultimate Edition 2.8 with a new Ultamatix brought back from the dead to grab what you may feel you need.
What is Ultimate Edition 3.6?
I built this release from the bottom up at 0 bytes, I did not use a Ubuntu Mini remix. I debootstrapped it ground up from the 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) tree. The Desktop Environment is Mate 1.6. The lite version has only the very basics. The full monte is a full featured O/S. More on that when I release it. Funny I am sitting on a UE 3.7, 3.8 and even a 4.0 based on Saucy Salamander, very unstable btw.

Sorry, I have not been around. My mother was life flighted to Columbus hospitol Sunday, was in intensive care until yesterday. She is doing much better now and may come home as earily as Sunday. While I was gone my computer has been busy uploading Ultimate Edition Goodness. The new mainboard & SSD is installed, currently untweaked. Now for the Thanks; we now have over 1/2 a Terabyte of FREE Cloud storage, it is being put to good use & eventually will be shared for everyone to enjoy.

Ultimate Edition 3.5.1, not your cup of tea? I have had a chunk of perhaps unecessary FLACK, via UEFI technology. I have posted on the M$ hate that it provides. Don’t hate on them join them a ASUS Sabertooth revision 2.0 and a 256GB SSD is in route, I will enbrace the technology that is coming, gentlemen I ate this tab.
I have spoke of this many a time, reality now waits in the balance of my decision.

I am at a buddies house, yet steadily the Jackhammer serves you. It is uploading as of current 60GB & a bunch of that WIP (work in progress), IE Ultimate Edition 3.6 etc. I intend to share that with you. Lets get this information out in the open. Once fully utilized, accessability is instantaneos. Will be greater then 200+GB when complete. I previously did provide signup links right? Once you are on the acct, you will gain immediately access. We have talked about this Petabytes in the past, 200GB of info will do what?. I know how did you generally rape the bandwith. Is this an alternative, or solution?
20GB acct hmm, how did I get 60GB there? I can not upload as fast as I retrieve space via referals. My iPhone blows up saying you just gained 5 GB of space all day long, as of current over 1/3 of a Terabyte. I will fill this for you.

Less then one week, my previous blog about what will be Ultimate Editions’s open storage has dumbfounded me. 220GB of space being filled with Ultimate Edition Goodness. I bet I could more then double that if some of you had taken the time to acknowledge your email acct or install the software I provided, only available here. I took the time & debianised it. Those that did will be glad that you did.
I did not blog about Baracudas "Copy" service to hook me up with Petabyes of free storage, I did so to provide you the end user sharing access. I will wait one more week and provide you with statistical information that will make you skitish if you did not register. For what it is worth: I did try and help you. What the big number is when they stop offering referal is what we will have in cloud based storage. I have listened to our people and some do not like sourceforge, I am doing nothing but offering an alternative. Nothing personal, but do you understand 1.6 Million downloads times via avg 3GB = how many Petabytes? Not Tera, not Giga. Sourceforge does an excellent job across the board. Next step is Exobytes, something I can never consume. I will test the seas Copies in triplicate all large providers.
What normally costs money, in one week via referals a years cost is gone. Thanks for your contibution.

One of my moderators on the Ultimate Edition forums tanmay.01 has brought to my attention a really nice free service from Baracuda Networks called simply enough "Copy". There are similar services out there such as Google Drive, which still does not have a Linux Client even though they said they would. So what makes Baracuda Networks "Copy" so good?
- I have Debianized and Repostormed the Linux Client – I have submitted the application and it has been aproved.
- Integrates with Nautilus and syncs to your home folder
- It has command line options – I will write the manual for them if they like.
- It has a API (Application Programing Interface) to allow further development.
Any file you save with Copy on your computer, smartphone, or tablet is automatically accessible from any device you use. Well if that is not good enough, they also have a referal program. They standardly offer 15 GB of free space same as Google Drive, however for a limitied time each person / device you add you recieve an extra 5 GB of space. I currently have 35 GB of space & will grow by 5 GB anyone who signs up and installs a client. If you prefer not to refer you can purchase additional space from them.

Happy 4th?

I hope everyone had a happy 4th of July. I went to the beach and swam & watched the fireworks. I was planing on releasing all 6 Operating Systems on the fourth. 2 computers were uploading for 60 hours total, 30 a piece one of which had the cable modem reset and blew that plan. Recently I have paid for 2 expiring domains and a shell account to move Operating Systems from uedonors website to the shell account then on to sourceforge. The current hosting provider does not allow ssh’ing out. Issues squashed, Thanks Donators.
I would like to take the time to welcome BlackWolf back on board as one of my leading admin. He has already begain to make changes on the forum, screenshots taken from my Iphone5 running “tapatalk”, works with droids as well. You can get it though the app store on the Iphone or google play on a droid smartphone. Looks like I need a secretary 😉

On to the task at hand, I am releasing 6 ISO’s, 3 different Operating System flavors if you will. All LTS (long term supported) all based off Ubuntu 12.04 “Precise Pangolin”, each release has had beyond the sometimes in the area of 1000 upgrades pre-installed sweetness. All releases have had the kernel upgraded to 3.8.0-25 from the stable tree. I have added a few themes in each release including a female theme for the ladies. My gf has assisted in it’s development and has claimed it is not done to her standards yet. I have also included 100+ emerald themes complements of Ras Steven a friend of mine on facebook and a long time user of Ultimate Edition. There are also proposed themes that are being written for Ulimate Edition 3.6, 3.7, and 3.8 respectivily also included. I believe Firefox to be at version 22 in each as well.

Mainly your choice in selecting which Operating System you want will come down to which DE (Desktop Enviornment) you want to use & system resources. Lite using very little and pretty much just the basics to Ultimate Edition 3.5.1 being resource hungry & loaded to the gills with apps. You can of course try them all right from the live disk without making any change to your computer, however runs slower then installed.
