Ultimate Edition 2.8 gone gold?

by on Oct.12, 2010, under Linux, Ubuntu, Ultimate Edition

I do not want to get your hopes up, but I have finished both the x86 (32 bit) and 64 bit versions of Ultimate Edition 2.8. I have uploaded both and are being ran through the ringers by admin / testers. This will be a final release based on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat as soon as they give me the go ahead. It only takes 8 minutes a piece to transfer them to Sourceforge. If errors are found on my department, I will re-build & re-upload it as many times as necessary until perfection is met. This is why I said don’t get your hopes up. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up it may be coming quite soon.

It will be a few days at best for testing, bug reporting, and feedback. Could be as early as Friday; a best case scenario. Cross your fingers & stay tuned.

Ultimate Edition 2.8 Beta

by on Sep.19, 2010, under Linux, Ubuntu, Ultimate Edition

Surprise, surprise… Have the beta. It is far from final and has many issues. It is ok to run it Live. I do not suggest installing it. There are many issues with python. I also personally see issues with the new Xorg 1.9. No compiz for me, hopefully all will be ironed out by the final release. I do not plan on releasing a 64 bit edition, until it is final. As a little side note: Ultimate Edition PS/3 will also hopefully be on its way shortly.

Enjoy,

When it rains it pours…

by on Sep.02, 2010, under Ultimate Edition

Sorry for the downtime, I have had a bit of a crisis on hand. My girlfriend of 11 years has caught Tuberculosis (TB) & possibly has Cancer. We now have the health department visiting our house daily and we use products like Delta 8 cartridges to deal with her pain. For additional comfort, THC gummies such as Indacloud Pineapple funta can provide both relaxation and stress relief.

The journey we’re on has been an eye-opener in many ways, particularly in understanding how various health conditions can be eased with different types of medication, including cannabis. It’s fascinating and, at times, a relief to discover how alternative treatments like cannabis products can play a significant role in managing symptoms, especially in cases where traditional medications may not be as effective or can have challenging side effects.

For instance, in our situation, Los Angeles Dispensary has been a game-changer in managing pain and discomfort. Beyond just pain relief, I’ve read about and heard from others how cannabis can aid with symptoms like nausea, anxiety, and even sleep disturbances, all of which are common in serious health conditions. This exploration into alternative therapies has been an unexpected journey, and it’s highlighted how diverse and personalized medical treatment can be.

It’s also opened up a dialogue about the broader implications and potential benefits of cannabis and similar products in the medical field. There seems to be a growing recognition of their value, especially in palliative care and chronic conditions. This shift in perspective is not just about embracing new treatments but also about understanding and respecting the diverse needs and responses of patients facing various health challenges.

As we continue to navigate through this tough time, I’m hopeful and grateful for the ways in which these alternative options have provided some comfort and relief. It reinforces the idea that healthcare and treatment are not one-size-fits-all and that being open to different approaches can sometimes lead to finding the best path for each individual’s wellbeing.

Better late then never…

by on Jul.22, 2010, under Linux, Ultimate Edition

I have started writing a F.A.Q. For Ultimate Edition users. Spending the time to write web pages does not rate very high in my list of priorities. 😉

The link is in the bar above or here. I am sure I have many errors to correct please feel free to comment on them in this post.

I have been humbled…

by on Jul.19, 2010, under Linux, Ubuntu, Ultimate Edition

I have had people hammer me for being human. I should only post Ultimate Edition related material here or thus I have been told. I will not get into the details. Last time I checked this is my blog. Please allow me to backpedal and correct myself, who makes UE? This is my website w/o admin / testers we would be nothing, the same goes in hand the end user. This is where the humbling comes in place. Mr. Breeg and I went to a concert in Detroit Michigan this weekend, Clarkston to be 100% correct, an Iron Maiden concert. I physically got to see 11,000 people at one time, an eye awaking experience to me. We see greater then twice that everyday here, I am using the lowest number possible called “Uniques”, I was a Unique. I have never seen Iron Maiden prior.

Physically seeing 11,000 people has really changed the way I feel, you may think I am blowing smoke. I am out for your best interest, but do not possess the time to make all users happy & perhaps bothers me more then seeing 11,000 people. Most like to brag and say I seen 4 million hits last month, I am now the opposite. Thanks most of all to you & Mr. Breeg for opening my eyes. I live in front of a computer.

I am your humble servant.

by on Jul.01, 2010, under Ultimate Edition

This is my son in law cutting a rug. Sorry for the poor quality, but was recorded from a phone.

Recorded in my house none the less, in this video you can see my screen it is the same screen that makes UE. The room he walks into. Do I need to goto sleep now? Or is it drink another Jimmy?

Mr. Breeg recorded it, Jimmy is my son inlaw, and has always has been off the hook.

Youtube is calling to me to ad there, I will not have it. 3/4 a million squat. 10 million wont fold. I guess u do not understand? 3 or is it 4 million here, my intentions are pure. I look out for the enduser. I have many a job. Prefer 1. Do you know how rich I “Could be”? You may see a post about that. We have 2 Lawyers on it. I may post it openly. We will not go down. Nothing like 100K views a day. 1 of you a lawyer? I am betting.

Happy 4th,

Sourceforge & IRC

by on Jun.23, 2010, under Hosting, Linux, Ultimate Edition

Sourceforge has interviewed me and dropped a post on their blogs homepage. Thanks, Lee Schlesinger & Sourceforge.

I have had many suggestions for setting Ultimate Edition on IRC. That said…

IRC or Internet Relay Chat has been around for years, actually around before instant messaging services. This has been set up as an option to get instant answers. Who will be there to help you?
Who knows. It will depend on what time of day it is. At first the amount of users will be low. Users are encouraged to help other users. I as well as other Admin can not be there 24 / 7. Do we promise to answer everything? No. We certainly can’t do that – though we will try. In most cases you will be redirected to a possible solution. You can just watch or “idle”, but if you participate, help please don’t hinder the work going on there.

I have been trying to hold off on this post. We may soon have our own IRC network. Before I commit resources, I would like to see if it is worth investing the time & money. This will allow you to chat with Ultimate Edition devs & other UE users. We may not stay here, but I want to give all users the chance to see what it is all about. I am providing 2 options to get there, KVirc is an IRC client built into virtually all Ultimate Editions. You are not limited to using just KVirc, there is Xchat, and many others. Mirc for you windows users. If you wish to learn about IRC, information overkill can be read here. Specific Information on freenode here.

Option #1:
Open your terminal (Applications >> Accessories >> Terminal) & paste the following.

kvirc irc://irc.freenode.org/UltimateEdition

Option #2:
Web based chat.

Hopefully by Ultimate Edition’s 2.8 final release it will be defaulted, preset & fully customized UE style. I hope to catch you on there.

Open Testing?

by on Jun.14, 2010, under Linux, Themes, Ubuntu, Ultimate Edition

[ad#wide]

Open beta testing is being run by admin & mods. I want everyone to know should this happen, you can expect problems as with any alpha / beta release. In the past we have only released stable releases. I have already uploaded a alpha 1 of Ultimate Edition 2.8 x64 (built off Ubuntu Maverick Meercat 10.10), it will be released to admin, mods and beta testers later today. If it is decided to open the flood gates, I will come back and drop another post expect a few days maybe a week (still have to build x86 and upload it). How about a sneak peak…

The theme etc. is not set in stone. What do you guys think of the idea, any comments good or bad are appreciated.
