Ultimate Edition 3.8 has been released worldwide. The full release info can be viewed here. I am simultaneously releasing Ultimate Edition 3.9 to Admin, Beta testers & Donors. This is not a final product. My personal goal is to release Ultimate Edition 4.0 before I even begin to slow down:

The reason for the rapid succession of releases? I was and still am way behind on release cycles. No-one says that you have to upgrade. If you are happy where you are with say Ultimate Edition 3.4.2 etc. Then by all means stay there. Ultimate Edition 3.8 is not a LTS, however unlike Ultimate Edition 3.6 and Ultimate Edition 3.7 is quite stable. The release of Ultimate Edition 4.0 will be from the Saucy branch, naturally Ultimate Edition 4.1 (KDE based) also coincides with Saucy. It is at that point that I will be caught up and can return to programming. One of the nice things about Open Source is the freedom of choice.

The presure and workload on me in pushing releases has caused me to write some new software that at least partially automates my building process, at this point it is w/o error. I’m not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing 😉 Sorry about the incorrect links above, was pointed to the draft. The situation has now been rectified.

I know I just released Ultimate Edition 3.7. I took advantage of the high speed internet and uploaded Ultimate Edition 3.8 Lite X64 to all 3 mirrors on the Ultimate Edition test server. Ultimate Edition 3.8 is based on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail. I have pre-installled a few apps I would also like the admin, beta testers and donors to try. I told you I intend to catch up with distro releases. 😉 Your feedback is appriciated:

There has been a bunch of donations as of recently, I have not had time to update the list simotaniously those that had an account prior does not allow them to reset the password (because they forgot it). Moving to a new domain name I assume is where the issue resides, however those of you that had an account it is still there, provided you remember your username and password. The server has taken a serious beating clipped from the donors site, when a donor complained about the speed:

I have purchased a year of hosting from another provider, exclusivly for Admin, beta testers and donors. I am transfering ISO’s there. They are fast, I sent an ISO from our Copy account to the new server to test the speed:

I personally would prefer to spend my time building Operating Systems or programming, however I will spend my time re-establishing and adding the new accounts to the list. On a lighter note to those of you that have an account & remember your password. I have purchased using donors money a years worth totally seperate hosting account to curb the issues with speed when downloading, this is still not currently in place. My admin or donors speak I do listen. The site http://testue.info/ is a bonus to those that have donated it is NOT a requirement that I provide to you the service, I do so solely as my way of saying thanks. Your feedback is greatly appriciated.

I typically do not work on the weekends as far as O/S releases, however I wanted to nip this in the bud. I had an interview today took a drug test and was told you are already hired if my screening goes through. Which it will I do not do drugs. Can you belive I got a hair cut to test for that? It won’t matter, I do like my beer on occasion, drugs are not my thing. That does not mean being that this is a weekend I do not upload UE 3.7 to the new hosting account to see if the donors beat it offline 😉

If you are a donor it is in my best intrest at this point to have you contact BlackWolf let him generate a list and present it to me weeded through. I greatly apologize to both BlackWolf & the donors involved. I am super swamped and feel my #1 job should be to build O/S’s and program. I want to point this out was there a Ultimate Edition Player in UE 3.6? I am one man.

I spent the last 7 hours re-writing a mysql database to bring the Admin, Donors and beta testers site back online under a new domain name. I was beginning to believe it may have been better to just have paid the premium to Godaddy. Will I do the same thing next year? Knowing what I now know about restoring databases etc. I doubt it would take me that long if I had to do it again. We will see.

There is currently 7 new ISO’s available for download and testing. Ultimate Edition 3.7, 3.8, 4.0 & 4.1. The username and password you had from the old site is the same on the new site. Your feed back is appreciated.

I would like to have released Ultimate Edition 3.7 to you this weekend. I have alot going on as well, feedback from Ultimate Edition 3.7 has made it make a turn for yes you will wait. I have been working forward. Ultimate Edition 3.6 was downloaded 22,000 times in a week from sourceforge alone and I must honestly say my worst incarnation. There are alot of issues in what will be Ultimate Edition 3.6 to Ultimate Edition 3.9 and that is for sure. I have now found the bug / issue however I can not change it upstream.

One would like to think if you fix it here the issue is gone, not the case. It is a network based bug in resolvconf or networkmanager, not apparent other then in chroot. Once again no internet is a “Showstopper”. Massive changes between 12.04 to 13.10 (UE 4.0) which the video below demonstrates.

I have purchased a new domain for our donors after Godaddy tried to extoritionate us.

Apps to re-write and bugs to crush, I almost love my job 😉 To be honest with you, I would like to skip Ultimate Edition 3.6 straight through 3.9 and release Ultimate Edition 4.0.

I typically don’t ask for feedback in this area, unload the big guns on me. Do you know I have been told my beta’s are better then most final releases from the “others”

    I wrote an article about a few programs that are "Under the hood" in virtually all versions of Ultimate Edition Linux. I have also re-uploaded Ultimate Edition 3.6 Lite x64 reduced it’s size to a CD, sorry about that & released Ultimate Edition 3.6 – The Full Monte. 57 of you got a corrupt download, you were downloading it while I was uploading it.

    I have been diligently working on Ultimate Edition 3.7. I am unsure if I will have it done by this weekend, stay tuned. Those of you that are having problems installing UE 3.6 please check here first.
