XMAS IN MARCH?
by TheeMahn on Mar.10, 2013, under Linux, Ubuntu, Ultimate Edition
I have a fantastic Operating system for you today ladies and gentlemen. I feel it is best to call it an end to an era & a new begining simultaneously. I am releasing Ultimate Edition 2.6.7 End of life release. Ultimate Edition 2.6 series a LTS no longer supported, by the same token I am also releasing a new LTS (3 years supported) Ultimate Edition 3.4 Lite. I let the donors get thier hands on it and nothing, but positive feedback 64 bit alone downloaded 150 times at last check.

Traded my old Dell earlier this week for this HP Pavillion dv 6500 with a very noisy fan, maxted out its RAM, wiped my 60gb adata and dropped UE 3.4 lite on her last night. It comes with the broadcom 4311 that every other distro is missing firmware for…Lite no problem. The install went along 800×600 until reboot…then max res…i didn’t have to do a thing. It is just flying along without stick or hiccup which is surprising given my modest specs. I for sure notice a difference from the Feb 9 copy i have…rock solid for sure. Gonna put all my toys on it today and will report any disaster should there be one. Nice work! I can see this on my big machine soon.[/quote]

Can’t wait for my Better Half to download 3.4 lite for me, tried all the others since 2.6 but still go back. Not looking forward to end of life so 3.4 lite should save me for 3 more years! Thanks for all the hard work.

Kudos for an excellent distro. A real plus for seemless HDMI sound (which is almost impossible on other distros. Both 3.4lite and Black Opal were no problems (after updating the graphics drivers). Thank you for your hard work.

I’ve been using UE with MATE (and, although I like MATE, you’re right about it), but I’m downloading 3.4 lite as I type, and it’s time for a reinstall!
Thanks 10^6!

Just downloaded and reinstalled both systems, my Win7 gaming partition (all I use it for) and UE3.5. I did have to use a GRUB repair disk in order to boot into UE3.5, which is what I’m in now. Sweeeet.

I loved UE when I was first starting out learning about Linux and Ubuntu. You had the best custom OS in existence back four+ years ago. Hands down thee best! However, you are releasing the same one from three years ago though? :/ No thanks. Not really my thing. What I would recommend to new users these days is debianhelp.wordpress.com if somebody really needs a fresh customized system now. Thanks for all your hard work all these years though Mr Mahn! You will always be kindly remembered by those of us who used your fresh exciting customized systems. Nothing will ever beat your Ultramatix scripts. Cheers!
