Ultimate Edition 2.8 Beta

Surprise, surprise… Have the beta. It is far from final and has many issues. It is ok to run it Live. I do not suggest installing it. There are many issues with python. I also personally see issues with the new Xorg 1.9. No compiz for me, hopefully all will be ironed out by the final release. I do not plan on releasing a 64 bit edition, until it is final. As a little side note: Ultimate Edition PS/3 will also hopefully be on its way shortly.

What app do you use when you make your desktop demo videos? I’m looking for a desktop screen recorder, but the ones i’m finding out there leave much to be desired.

I use recordmydesktop –no-sound from the terminal. There is also a GUI frontend, however I find the terminal based version to be fairly bulletproof. There are others such as Istanbul.

I can promise it will not be until after Ubuntu 10.10 goes final. I can not set a date in stone. I will keep building it until our admin / beta testers are satisfied. We strive for perfection. Not having a solid release date allows us to close that gap. I have built it since the beta release, many things have been fixed as well as changed.

Hi TheeMahn …hope things are looking up more for your girlfriend and you. I see its 4 days left until Ubuntu 10.10. Just when 2.7 is almost perfect for me. Hey..life is an adventure…and sometimes UE too. I wish you well…and I still will make that donation….fell short again. You 2 can come back stronger than before. Onward and forward… 🙂 (:
