I have endured much worse. I have now enjoyed how much our users hate us (certain it is not our users it is wiki). Wikipedia tells me I am a POS. Be glad I do not have an acct there. Funny, I do not see harassment from Ubuntu any more and Jane is now your CEO. People hate me as well as love me. My goal is what you need to re-think.
I am about progression not regression. I have a new beta tester that says Ultamatix wakes up 😉 Many can perceive that to be my downfall to even pick up. Let’s all see how it turns out in the end. I have done nothing, but attempt to help you. I ask for 0 from you. I am not about money. Almost all other nix’s produced make sure they are paid first, I do not care. I have ate it more then once. My entire life have I asked for a donation? Think about that…

I’ve been using Ultimate Edition since 2.2, I have even converted a few friends over to it. Even my friends agree this is one of the greatest distributions freely available. I have never had a problem with this distribution, and if that makes you a POS, then my knowledge of the meaning of that phrase must be lost. Keep up the good work, you have my support!

Thank you so much for all the work you have put into Ultimate Edition. I have been using it since the first release was made public and I believe it to be the best Linux distro to date. We use it at work and my staff is very happy with it for all their needs in the office.

I’m running 2.5 and it rocks. I have tried at least 10 different distros and I am more than happy with this one.
As soon as my tax refund comes I will be sending money.

So I’m curious… could you tell if they typed it in DOS???
Personally I read wiki and though I feel they never actually called you a pos… they didn’t give credit where credit is due. Sure UE is slightly bloated (3 gb live cd :P) but it opens your eyes to available programs, because there’s way too much out there for you to download and try on your own. And thats why they created Synaptic, so we can remove what we don’t want.
Anyway, my point is thank you and sorry that all these complainers with low end machines who keep crying since your distros bulkier than the rest. Keep it up, and keep creating your themes!! (I install most of them to my other distros)

You’re not serious are you? You mean to tell me that people harass you about this FREE OS? WTF?! UE is great and no one is forced to use it. If you ever did take donations, I’d do so by pay pal. This is a great project that Canonical needs to look into with future Ubuntu releases. I mean, Microsoft has it’s “ultimate edition” which is lackluster in my opinion. This is pure brilliance. An OPTIONAL version of Ubuntu with a ton of frills is something needed on their site. Some people say it’s bloated and has too many toys. I think it’s great to showcase what Ubuntu has out of the box without making (new) users dig around so much. I’m building two new computers tomorrow and this is what I’ll be using. Keep up the great work!!!

Anyone who harasses or badmouths you is a complete idiot in my opinion.
I was running standard ubuntu 8.04 to begin with, but then found Ultimate Edition. I downloaded and installed 1.8, and am still running that now (I haven’t upgraded to later versions as I can’t be bothered to back up all my data, and didn’t think to create a seperate home partition when i originally installed).
Yes, there are problems from time to time, but most problems have been fixed very quickly as far as I have been able to tell.
You may not ask for donations, but if I could (I cannot unfortunately, due to my current circumstances), I would willingly donate in a heartbeat.
You are an amazing ‘Mahn’, and I, along with I imagine, the rest of the Ultimate Edition community, wholly respect you a lot for everything you do for us.

Thanks, I appreciate that. When I incoherently asked for donations for my old rig shocked me to see it unsold. That is ok now the kids comp & I feel overkill, they both love urban terror. That will come out of my pocket next month 😉 It is all good I have full intentions of going to college to see how much I can teach the professor. My profession programming 😉 At least I will have a piece of paper that says I know what I know. I hope they CLEP me.

Hi Theemahn, I just d/l’d UE2.6 and gave it test run. Very impressive. Gonna install it now. You know, if you weren’t doing such a good job and an impressive one at that, the critics and nay sayers wouldn’t be so critical of what you are doing. Keep up the good work. There will always be someone that doesn’t like the same cup of tea that you do.

I’m not expert with UE or Linux GNuLinux etc….
but this distribution UE its amazing and easy this give me more
opportunity (chance ) for developing myself 🙂 my child etc. thanks for your time and your intelligence distributive 🙂 so when wiki or microsuck “tell” something of this people who created this distribution i think it is something wrong on the other side of the EDGE 🙂 I’m with you but I’m not developer informatics or programmer im just one little poet writer of something which dos not exist :). have a nice day and everything gonna be alright .

I do not want to let the cat out of the bag yet, but we are going places & will be in a hurry. Why don’t I once in a while check my e-mail? Huge opportunities I have pissed away. I have 12,000 e-mails, still about 1,400 to yet read. I will not tell you what is coming, just large things. Wiki I no longer care what they say, we are #13 of the top used distro & soon to change for the better I assure you. I wish I could tell you the millions I am personally responsible for losing. I guess I am a POS where that is involved. My workload is extreme.
I now accept donations, something I never wanted to do & have ate all costs involved over the years minus adverts. When you read what is coming I hope you will understand. None the less I will never sell out on you.
Ultimate Edition is here to stay. Elect an admin to read my e-mail? Don’t say anything until I drop the post.

as someone for whom English is probably 3-4th language, I had to check Urban Dictionary for the meaning of POS.
From the couple of meanings listed there I think that in this case :
POS == Positively Outstanding Service
…is the correct one to be applied.

I will never understand why the human species breeds such petty subhuman individuals. I found ultimate edition while surfing one late nite. I have never had such a love affair with your passionate work in any other flavor of Linux that I have tried. Although I have tried my best, most of my aquaintences still insist on paying for their O.S.’s, mainly windows. The only lone convert to Ultimate Edition was my wife. Just downloaded 3.8×64, kudos for this release – you are and always will remain TheeMahn!!! We love you! I agree wholeheartedly with vgrozev, POS = = Positvely Outstanding Service. Many, many thanks for your tireless work. Those haters are just jealous of your incredible work. I will always remain a loyal supporter. You truly are an inspiration to all.
