Advancing your O/S.

by on Jan.22, 2012, under Linux, Programming, Ubuntu, Ultimate Edition

I know it has been a long time since my last post. I would like to take the time to give you an update on what I am doing / trying to accomplish. I wrote a small wireless article on facebook of a "case study" I was trying to conduct. Well now, not a good idea; before I could even buy the product to begin testing personally they were bought up virtually Internet wide. Come to find out Facebook picked up my article and made it into a "Sponsored story". Luckily my sister has allowed me to use the one she bought so testing resumed. Needless to say, I will not publish an article until I have the product in my hand. I have advanced wireless support traumatically in what I will be re-releasing as Ultimate Edition 3.0. Why 3.0 and not 3.1?

The last build of Ultimate Edition 3.0 was a conjunction and build by multiple people. No pun intended, but I am a perfectionist by nature and was not satisfied with the product at hand. I am running it now and is night and day from what Ultimate Edition 3.0 was. It has not been released to any beta tester but one. I’m hoping to change that this Friday. I have rebuilt the entire O/S from the ground up and have a few minor issues that I will be addressing prior to releasing to administrators, mods and beta testers. I have new hardware for testing and will be ordering more Friday. I am hoping to have a 100% successful release soon. I personally apologize for releasing what I feel was shoddy and incomplete work. I have also been spending time programming, so you may have a few new toys to play with upon release.

I do want to welcome aboard BlackWolf as our new "Main" forum total admin. One less job for me, thanks Blackwolf. I suppose we will call what I release Ultimate Edition 3.01, there will not be a 3.02, even though I have a 2.64 also unreleased.

TheeMahn,

Still using 2.7 which has never let me down, keep trying the latest version but never have got round to changing, will definitely try this as well.

    Thank you.

Hi TheeMahn…I thought something was not right with 3.0. However i liked how it was mostly setup in some apps. I think the prblem is ..it seems its easy to make an OS by who is making them. I mean these dudes are not major genius`s..i havent attempted to make one as yet,,,so im no genius either. No it was not the same. Mint..it seems popular now…and part of the problem is that dam unity…i think it was a bad idea. Ubuntu ;ost fans on it..but Ubuntu dosent see it..they are continuing with more Unity. I dont see the point. The bottom line is..i guess anyone can make an OS..how it works and runs apps..is another story. I tried a few just in the past week…I dont like Ubuntu so much but it saves me from messing my own up. Its chep looking…and you have to do every little thing to make it work. and it comes with harly any apps. After 9.10..Ubuntu went downhill…:(

THIS will be the 3.0 that I can be proud of. We know what happened, never a need to apologize, sir.

I just want to thank everyone, for developing what I think is the best,O.S. available, .I have and do use all major O.S.s, Mac. Win.7, PUIAS 6.2 etc.etc.,but nothing has ever worked perfectly, right from the .iso all I had to do was, download the recommended, nvidia drivers.the developement 3d drivers, would not work for me. Thanks for a thing of beauty.!!!!

What is Linux but a work in progress each distribution being a stepping stone to the next great release. Compared to Windows, need I say more? Thank you for my OS of choice.

Theemahn and UE Team, congratulations for your outstanding work. I’ve been using linux for a couple of years now and of all the distros I’ve loaded, run, and evaluated, Ultimate Edition, LinuxMint, and PinguyOS have been hands down favorites. Regarding the upcoming 3.1, needless to say there are thousands of us that are awaiting it’s arrival with great anticipation. Thank you for keeping us excited!
