A Perfect LTS on the way?
by TheeMahn on Jul.29, 2017, under Ultimate Edition
Alot of work goes into a LTS (Long Term Supported) release. I have spent a great chunk of my time writing TMOSB to automate building of Ultimate Edition 5.7, and will not be good enough.
Many broken packages, not beyond me to fix. Today, I had to remove software I wrote to rectify issues in the past. I question if they utilize software I write to find their bugs. In the past I tried to tell them, for lack of a better word they Loathe me, because I take their people millions at a time. They have 1000’s that work for them, however you can not beat automation in software. I can not wait for AI (Artificial Intelligence) to take over my job. Sorry to toss the term Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) they have a cube that exceeds Human Intelligence. Things are a bought to go off the chain within a year or 2.
I may have sold all my stock in AMD, I have money coming from the same purpose. I have thought what do I actually need? Down the road perhaps, currently nothing. I may take the time and repostorm Ultimate Edition 5.7. Highly unlikely if a AI based CPU can do it for me. I talked about this years ago on our forums. We will see & time will tell.

Hi, still using faithful 4.2.1. I use it in a duel boot environment. I like LTS and MATE. I have high hopes for 5.7.
Sadly the last few releases have not worked in duel boot. They install but refuse to boot afterwards. Hoping 5.7 will fix this finally?

5.6 Lite will be the same as you have in 4.2.1 not 5.7. 5.7 Will be KDE based. Will there be a 5.6.1? Yes, most certainly.
Version Major 5
Version Minor 6
Version update 1
Same as 4.6.1
I see the numbers 5.5 for example downloaded 16,275 times, KDE based releases rape all even based releases in numbers. You would thing I would take the time to learn everything about it. I have learned the minimal to adjust the environment. I hate Windows & KDE looks too much like Windows and is a hog in resources, same as my opinion on Windows.
Not like I am running on Junk, I have mass resources. I do not care how you slice it up using less leaves more open. I do not wait for anything. I ran 5.1 on the rig right across the room from me for months. A slug in comparison to even the Bulldozer I unloaded to Mr_Breeg. I have read a ton of contradictorily posts on AMD BullDozer. In Windows was not horrible, in Linux rocks. Linux in general utilizes resources quite well.

Ryzen in Linux takes down many Intel Servers. Threadripper takes those that remain. The few that do remain Epyc drops. I do enjoy the market manipulation. More on that later.

I’m having issue with 5.6 can’t update Nvidia drivers via software up date or synaptic package manager.. Under software update Update driver, if you choose anything it does nothing but goes back to default choice.. If you try under synaptic it says fix broken packages. When you go to fix broken packages, you get 5 different errors.. You can’t even update it via sudo apt-get Nvidia.

I did let users test this, however we are far from a final product & it will be a LTS (Long Term Supported) in the end.
