Something Theemahn has been working on for Ultimate Edition 3.0, He thought he would let you try it ahead of time. We have purchased a website for it. Your feedfback is appreciated.
Did you know, UE 3.0, at admin level was asked of me to toss it amongst the roost to let a “Professional” evaluation / review of our work. Let me please continue in saying I have been called a “One man Army”, I not only deny that factor I feel I get way too much credit for the things I do.
Very nice! I heard of clementine before but never gave it a run. I must say it is nice with your feature addon’s. Compiled lucid-32 for now! Looking forward to it in 3.0 64 bit now!!! Thanks for all your work!!
EDIT: Not sure what happened but compiled version seemed to be a faulty install…tried re-running cmake, make, etc and when i try and run program i get a error about no directory for /usr//bin….! So i went with .deb for lucid! Working and still loving it!
Heh Mahn, so far Ultimate Player is working great. im using Oz Unity2 Onyx 64 and it came with Clementine. Clementine had regularly high pitch interference, which would only dissappear with reboot. I could switch over to Rhythmbox no worries tho.
So Far NO PROBLEMO with sound ……was that you or just luck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have been a UE fan since 2.2 , and have 2.4 installed as my main stable OS and that been what like nearly two years.
Till UE arrived on my scene it was the usual 6 monthly nightmare of upgrading and redoing every damn small codec and config. UE changed that, its *brilliant* it enabled to do more and learn more. It saved the need to find and download tonnes of regular software requirements and also introduced a whole range of hitherto unknown software.
For the first time i could literally just install and play (or work) and then continue to tweak the system further , to my personal prefereces. The only OS that comes close is Mint. But UE is in another zone
So the UE team, thanks a lot.
The fact that 2.4 has been good enough indicates how good it is and am hoping that when UE 3.0 comes out it will be the same. So been looking forward to UE 3.0 as my stable (am currently trialling Mint 11 but am not so happy) and am not so happy with lxde or xfce interfaces either, always something missing. Mint 11 has had a tonne of problems and even after a month of HD install trialling its not getting to be so much better.
Last 3 questions
1. Where is the trial version
2. Will the trial version be upgradeable to the final stable
3. When can we expect the final UE 3.0, can wait enough
Thanks ram for the kind comments. I have been building as I type this UE 2.6.3 it is a LTS (long term support) – 2.6.2 was released internal & I must say I absolutely love it. New toys, newer kernel and 377 updates / 577MB pre-installed. I have also enhanced it slightly.
To be honest with you no matter how good UE 3.0 turns out UE 2.6.3 will be my operating system of choice. I have built alphas / betas of UE 3.0 and I am no where near satisfied. Betas are being released to admin / mods & beta testers exclusively. Unity has been a severe pain in my side. Sometimes, newer is not necessarily better.
To my understanding “poquito” means very little not “muy poco”
Hi, I have to say that my strongest (and probably only) experience with Linux is through UE (2.6….2.9) and I’m
still a newbie. I’m still using windows, hoping that 3.0
will make the big step for me. I’m checking every day for news . Thank You for what You’re offering to us.
TheeMahn I just want to tell you that i want ubuntu 3.0 with full of best software collection, themes , wallpapers, games etc etc… I also wanna tell that it must consist of all environments like Gnome, KDE, XFCE, LXDE,Openbox,Unity by which the 3.0 will get more powerful… and i want ubuntu to be the worlds best operating system… its my request to you please see that… please!!!
