A new Job.

I started a new physical Job Monday, second day of work today up at 4:30am for that purpose. 40 hours a week thank goodness no overtime this week. 4 ten hour days, I believe I have a final solution to what plagues me in Ultimate Edition 3.0. I plan to implement those changes Friday. I don’t like getting peoples hopes up, but perhaps we can have a release this weekend. Cross your fingers. Looks like I may also have an interview for Systems Software Engineer. Where I work currently will get a 2 weeks notice. Sometimes you got to have a job to find a job 😉

Congrats on the job. I do hope that 3.0 comes out with an option to chose LXDE/openbox as the desktop. I don’t like all the eye candy. It’s not eye candy to me, but I do love the professionalism of your distro.
LXDE and XFCE I think are better desktops. I like the fact that in 2.7 you can select them. And I really like the package manager. I’m a Windows user, and trying to find a linux system that I can make look, talk, smell and feel as close to XP/2000 as I can. Someone should write a utility to scan an XP install disk or installtion, and extract all the icons out of all the programs, and then let you associate linux programs etc with the icon of choice. That way, a windows XP theme could be built without infringing on XP. i.e. the distro would not have windows icons…

I wish you good luck on your job. I have been using for over a year now and I really enjoyed the work that you have put into this project. I can’t wait to see 3.0 and play with all the cool things that you put into it.

I think Ultimate Edition is the best Distro out there and I am looking forward to Ultimate3

Don’t worry TheeMahn, I know how you feel about having to have a job to get a better job, or one that you want to really do. I did that for the longest time before I joined the military. Best of luck on your new endeavors and remember to hardly work instead of work hard. You don’t want to over do yourself, plus you need to focus more on your personal life and making sure everything is taken care before you worry, or deal, with the general public with releases and things like that. We will still be here when you get things done. Take it easy and have fun.

Два года назад впервые столкнулся с Linux.После продолжительных проб и ошибок,выбор остановился на UE2,3 С той поры регулярно обновляюсь и устанавливаю Ваши работы.Очень доволен( за исключением 2,8) С нетерпением жду выхода UE 3.0. Большое спасибо Вам за Ваши работы!!!Удачи Вам в начинаниях!!

Good luck with the new job. Am anxiously awaiting Ultimate 3.0. I have been using 2.9 and it’s the best distribution out there. Of course that is in my own opinion.

It has been uploaded for admin to test no artwork is in place yet. 3.0 is also uploaded and being tested. Built it Sunday only day off, was up until I had to goto work Monday. I was beat 28 or 30 hrs up. Came in Wednesday last week and was told I would be working Friday for the next 6 weeks. When I came in Friday, they said we will see you Saturday. This week all is voluntary. I wish they would make up their mind.

Know how your feeling thee, just finished the colledge rush at work 3 months 6 days a week 12 or more hours a day. The money is great but your dead tired all the time and never have enough time for family, friends, and passions. your work and dedication are truly and greatly appreciated!

I would start with bash. Technically not a programming language, but will give you the understanding of how things flow.

Hope the new job treats you well in the future, and maybe they will ease up soon. I agree with Navy (N)ever (A)gain (V)olunteer (Y)ourself, I too was in the Navy, what was your rate? I was an FC. Looking forward `patiently’ to UE3.0 but I know life comes before everything else.
