Not in vain

I guess I did, I was downloading over 4 million files at the same time, 10 at a time. I will shut down the SledgeHammer, the Jackhammer is offline. JackTheRipper is w/o a doubt the fastest computer I have ever seen. Quite an endorsement coming from me. Yes, it is that fast. 1 computer will totally replace 3 servers and a desktop. 120 TeraBytes of space (almost an 1/8th of a PetaByte in just one computer). I can always turn on the Sledgehammer or Legion to retrieve data. I did sell Legion 2.
Welcome aboard JackTheRipper. As it sits:
- JackHammer offline
- Legion offline
- Legion 2 offline (sold)
Coming soon SledgeHammer (not for sale).
Data flows. I can promise you shit is getting done so fast it scares the competition, I am sorry what competition? Is that Ultimate Edition 7.7? Did I miss something? Just so you know I upgraded to 7.7 with just a command dropped in the terminal. A rolling release? That was a bunch of money. I am going to use it to its full potential. I hope you know Repostorm now builds Arch Linux packages as well as Arch Linux Repositories. You better watch your ass Steam Deck. Currently, I am working on getting a drive replaced. I will tell you how that goes. I have bought 11 X 14TB drives from them and not one return. I think they sent me a bad apple. I am still waiting for their response.
If they do not make it right, I will contact Amazon to get a refund & never buy from them again. Do you know how much money that is? The first 4 I bought were $350.00 a piece. I broke one, my bad. Now have bought 2 more actually 3. All I can say is they better make it right. If they find out who I am, I can promise you they will make it right. Could be a huge loss or gain in their business. How much traffic do you think this site sees on a daily basis? I will try to open your eyes: 204,943 registered users, just this site. How many sites do I own?
Did you know after I bought Legion, the same guy sent me a free server faster than the one I bought? Sales… The traffic I do have. I am positive he has more than made his money back. Once he seen the sales, I am sure he thought & contacted me, can I send you a free server? Well, that is a no-brainer. Just so you know the entire ThreadRipper Pro system I paid for out of pocket. There is nothing adjusting my thoughts.
What would happen if I introduce “Free Games” exclusively to the Steam Deck? You can see I have the ability. How large is that repository? Thank you Repostorm & autonomously built. Did you think I was fucking with you?
What part of the developer did you not understand Steam? I will take a large chunk of your users. I did not fuck up, you did, and now you will pay. Are all free games not attractive? You will beg me to stop. You probably fucked with the wrong guy.
Surely free games to the steam deck will not exist:
FREE STEAM DECK Games, I bet I own that website. I am just warming up. I just bought the domain, I mean business. let me tell you how this is going to work, I am not just a CEO, I am a webmaster. Let’s take the time and search on google for “Ultimate Edition” #1 result you are coming to see me. Does Microsoft not make a Ultimate Edition? If I can overtake Microsoft and have for years, what do you think will happen when I unleash on the Steam Deck? Pay close attention, the word is free. I just dropped steam. People will search for free steam games. I have got you. I am a scary fella in what I do.

Uploading to sourceforge as I type this, much faster then my server in the basement where bandwidth is concerned. The server in the basement has been working overtime. Did you know I can build 5,500 Operating Systems with that tool? What is coming next? I felt it was time to make a few Gamers happy. I may not be done for the day.
I do see a few flaws in tmosb when building a Gamers edition. It installs all of the Ultimate Edition Themes, we only want one theme the currently requested version (more space for games), I will eventually look into it. This release has all themes from 3.2 to 5.9, even though it is a 5.8 release. I may remove kodi and xbmc from the mix, another flaw in software. We are here to game right?

Upload finished:
I suggest you wait for it to mirror on sourceforge & do not pound on my server. That is a server based Operating System I am still developing. Tmosb when done will build that for you & me too, when I am done. I have added it our Ultimate Edition Gamers page Published on: May 22, 2010 @ 15:56. Ripped the donation links from the page while I was there.
I will tell you why. I scrapped roughly 100 GB of data from souceforge & intend to scrap roughly 1/2 a Terabyte more, our older releases. If you want a older release snatch it now. I am not done.
Enjoy, TheeMahn

Many “Geek Words” will be tossed in this blog, I tried to take the time to link the geek words to Wikipedia.
I have been working on Nasup for the server environment, no the new version is not online yet. I am currently having RPC (Remote procedure call) issues. It appears to be a bug with a race condition between NFS (Network File System) and RPC. I will get the issue smashed out. Works perfectly in Ultimate Edition 5.7 and below, so it is something they have introduced in Bionic Beaver. If it is not broke, do not fix it fellas.
Dropped a 16 Terabyte (Raid 0, 2 X 8TB drives) in Legion2, pulled 2 X 3TB drives. Legion sees it perfectly fine and can access the data. Nasup picks up as it says 56 Terabytes (Crazy isn’t it) of drives on the network. 48 Terabytes is more like it, if a drive has multiple shares it count’s that drive more then once the 192.168.1.5 drive is a 8TB Western Digital My Cloud NAS with 2 shares and it counts it twice. Still have some work to do. It is smart enough to know it’s own IP (Internet Protocol) address(s) and not add the drive even if it has multiple IP’s. I am pretty proud of that factor. Both servers have dual IP addresses.
I have also been busy working & hardening security, another race condition 😉

Ultimate Edition 5.9 Server will secure your FTP (File Transfer Protocol) even off the live disk, it currently does that NOW. I plan to have Apache as well SSH (Secure SHell) using TLS (Transport Security Layer) security off the rip, please do not rush me.
I have alot on my plate, please be patient with me. I am sorry, I forgot to tell you I also set up a secure repository online, data comes from my basement. 4096 bit encryption. Repostorm set it up for me. Only Ten years of programming there. Facebook has been riding my rump over 131 days not posting, let me do my job Facebook. Seriously? 131 days, Ten years. To be honest with you I have been writing software for over 30 years. I have been told my Alpha builds, should have been called a Beta build. Let me give you a Alpha build of Ultimate Edition 5.9 Server. Just maybe & I do mean maybe Distrowatch may open their eyes. Did you know at one point we were the #4 distro downloaded on the entire planet? If I would have kept going we would have been #1. We have Millions of users, not Billions yet. Opening a server line we will see Billions.
I do want you to understand what we are playing with here. In my house, it is straight up the bomb. Awards my smart TV’s with content Netflix would be envious of. I do grant you I have more space then most. Servers in the basement are chewing up power unforgivably, spitting webpages and data to the Net & household. Moving Gigabits through the air and the same hardlined. I grant you I am a extreme case for data & data flow. Do you see the positives here? I try to ignore the negatives. Try it and provide me your feedback, please understand this is not a final product. Yes, I am about to unleash a game changer.
TheeMahn,
Connectivity?
by TheeMahn on Jan.26, 2018, under Cloud Storage, Hosting, Linux, Ultimate Edition
I was not supposed to receive this until my birthday Friday, it arrived a few days early. This 48 port Managed Gigabit switch with dual Power supplies which I bought off Ebay for $59.99 for now has slowed down our little network. Which is not so small. Over 1 Million pageviews in less then a month off Legion our 32 core server, which was down 4 days. This is the same switch Google uses 1,000’s or tens of thousands of them I am sure. With 2 X 10 Gigabit uplinks & dual PSU (Power Supply Units). Our server is loud, I am fairly certain somewhere on the Internet you have heard me complain. I have had probably 2 or 300 foot of self healing Category 6E cable lying around for a long time & ordered a bunch of Category 7 cable for my home, I had to start looking at options since I will be working from home soon and now everything is virtual so I found the best business network uk to let my business on the service so we will be able to improve our work business.
If you want to learn what self healing is, all you need do is ask or Google it.
The slowest “Link” in any system is throttled by the weakest “link” in the chain in this case Cat 5 cable, may even be 5 enhanced. I don’t care, I see connection rates & they are currently squat. As much as I hate to say this, I will cut us custom cabling throughout my entire house & wire the entire house for “sound”. I did tag Josh on Facebook for this reason, you probably know him better as Finetuch on our forum. He is quite skilled in this area.
Sorry, I was like a kid in a candy store. I wanted to know if the sound was tolerable. After booting yes it is, the server needs to go to the basement. That will happen even if I have to wire it by myself. The “Managed Switch” in the video has a 970 Page manual, does not sound so managed to me ;). I ordered a converter to allow me to connect to the management or console port. Fairly secure unit, the only way to “hack it” is to physically plug into it’s management or console ports.
We will drop offline for a few days, this is no small project. I will try to make it minimal. I have to work 12’s next week, so probably at best will not happen until next weekend. It may be longer than that, we will see how I feel.
TheeMahn,
Let’s not Meltdown…
by TheeMahn on Jan.13, 2018, under Ultimate Edition
A security vulnerability has hit the net. I have never worried about trojans, virii my entire life building O/S’s, today is a new animal. Impressive, most impressive Darth Vader. What we are dealing with is massive. Every O/S / device on the planet will be effected by this individual that wrote it, like I said impressive. I have written Virus’s err Virii, never to impose on the planet.
Let’s try and make things better here in Ultimate Edition Land.
I have seen my main rig lock over the same, I have a server sitting across the room, absolutely unaffected by the onslaught. Why? Newer kernel than my main rig. It is being addressed on multiple levels.
Lets start here, a newer server version has been released Ultimate Edition 5.7.1 LTS Server (it is a long term supported release). Legion our 32 core was in the mix of building you a new release, it too will not be affected by the vulnerability.
Welcome aboard Ultimate Edition 5.6 Gamers. Before you ask, yes there will be a rebuild on Ultimate Edition 5.6 (5.6.1) & plain Jane Ultimate Edition 5.7 to 5.7.1.
If you are running any Linux based Operating System open a terminal:
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
If it pulls down and installs a kernel higher or equal to 4.13.0-29-generic, after you reboot you will be fine.

Hosting has transitioned.
by TheeMahn on Jan.06, 2018, under Ultimate Edition
New hosting has transpired on multiple levels. I got rid of Godaddy << They do not deserve a link and uploaded gigs of data to our new hosting company Dreamhost & our last website is still transitioning, probably the heaviest in bandwidth too BTW.
While most would ask on multiple levels? We will let the storm calm down as transitioning is is taking place. I want you to know when you are hacking me, yes we have a “Hackers Challenge” coming solely on Legion our 32 core server. I will personally host that challenge. Things will get Harry. There can be only one.
The next knownhost wordpress hosting package we will buy will be based on bandwidth, not cpu cores, ram SSD etc. The best of both worlds. http://os-builder.com/ for example gets the piss beat out of it in bandwidth, a juggling match in resources. It too will be moved, but to my next purchased hosting package. Research now becomes me in my journey to find something even close to eating Terabytes of consumption in bandwidth per month, that is w/o shutting me down for traffic insurge. I have seen 1/2 a Petabyte in a month in the past, in a interview with sourceforge I told them about it.
I did purchase another 6TB drive as I said in the previous post, I loaded $400 on my card. Thanks donors for the help in purchasing hosting. I will add your names to that list once I get this website moved. The SSD will have to wait. Hosting was priority #1. Next check will close the hosting conundrum, maybe I’ll buy a SSD then. The gap then closes on the pursuit to software perfection. Want to contribute to the next hosting service? Please by all means free to contribute. Good things are coming. I’m not just a programmer 😉
Please wait for details. I can hear 10 fans wind up at 10,000 RPMS. I hear you knocking, but you can not come in. YET!!!
Thanks DreamHost. I do believe mains database is still hosted through Godaddy. I will fix that too.

TechCrunch, wrote an article about our Ultimate Edition Gamers, thanks TechCrunch.
Benjamin_Breeg aka Wayne McGinnis, just installed Ultimate Edition 5.7 Server on Legion-one (Our AMD 32 Core Server), it is currently uploading Ultimate Edition 5.7 X64 Server to Sourceforge. I have not set it in place for the “Hackers Challange” yet, so please cool your jets. Webpage has being written for Ultimate Edition 5.7

Enjoy,
