Compounding Factors…
by TheeMahn on Dec.14, 2011, under Hosting, Linux, Ultimate Edition
Pounding is more like it. Traffic and spam have had their toll on Ultimate Edition websites, traffic from the new release and now onto the spam. I have personally stepped in to combat the spam issue. Spam bots have ran a muck on our forum. I have not cleaned up the spammers, however I have put a stop to new ones rolling in the door. Admin will have their hands full for some time, sorry I can’t be of more assistance I have more pressing matters. I will be dropping a few phone calls to assist in education, best I can offer at this time. I want to thank everyone for blowing up my phone. I thought the world was ending. No Ultimate Edition Main and the forum is DOWN!!!!!! lol
The techs at hostgator are top notch, and offered optimization tips for main as well as the forum. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please be patient as we take out the trash.

Hello TheeMahn
Belief it or not, you have quite a fallowing in Colombia.
At the time of the server going down, I was tutoring a few university students on what a Linux OS should have and look like.
There where 29 frantic students as soon as your server sites went down.
They had as a project to see how to improve Unity and compare to Oz Unity 2.0.
Since they where getting ready to leave school for the holidays.
And most of them have been delighted with Ultimate Edition, since I installed it on the server.
The university only had Slack ware, RedHot, Deviant, Debian, and now Ultimate Edition.
Out of the computer science class 213 students that are in the school 78% of then on have a dual-boot and one of is Ultimate Edition from 2.6.3 to 3.0 lite and gamers.
This has changed the the interest of most of the staff and students for Linux.
Since I started using this OS it has spread to over to 6 other projects, not only in the schools but also to the one’s using the sugar or One laptop per child, that covers 3 universities and 5 grammar schools.
Just in the past 6 months I have triple my work, in info dispersal and tutoring schools with low resources.
This has made quite a difference for at least 12 different communities, just using your lite version.
So I thank you again for making the difference for all of them.
So much for my early retirement, this was to be just a guest tutoring class.
It has become a very popular class even for adults who shied away from courses in the schools.
Just do to the limitations and enforcement of anti piracy.
So one’s again you and your staff have made the difference.
Hope it turns out well.
So I hope you all have a Merry and Care Free Holidays.
PS: you know what they say “all work and no play”.
We all know what you all have done.
So do Take some time for your self’s too.

Just wanted to tell you that ULTIMATE 3.0 is great, and was worth the wait. Easy to install and with no major or minor problems. It was worth the wait. It is the best yet. To you and yours have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year.

Wow!!! UE 3.0 is totally wicked !!! It makes Mint look like a soggy sandwich. I can never go back to that…..Keep up the good work!!! 3:)
December 30th, 2011 on 3:48 pm
Well i wish you the best of luck in your future ventures. I have downloaded the UE 3.0 and am dissapointed, if i wanted Linux Mint i would just use it unmodified. I LOVE UE 2.6, 2.8, and 2.9, still use them on my main computer, but i dual boot with Mint, so you see my point ? I do know that various government agencies and Microsoft have been jumping on the Ubuntu bandwagon, so i am abandoning it completely, who knows what back-doors have been covertly built in. So I am sad to see an end of the old UE, maybe you will pass it on to someone who has the time to work on it like you used to. Good luck and take care.

I am not here to steer you tword me. I wish you the best, you did say some blasphemous words there. You do know I was a part of UE 3, but not as 2.9 minus solo. I will not elaborate openly. Wow I have software I’m writing to revolutionize the world. There is a reason I want to program, UE has stopped me for more then 6 months & hense why I wanted to quit. I could tell you so much more then I would have to kill you 😉 With very few exceptions I made UE top to bottom, I hate when someone steps on my toes. Sometimes ppl such as you wow 2.6 you do not think there was a 1.0, 1.1, 1.2? How long before you realize?
I am going to be honest with you. I live by 2.6 series, why do I call it a series? Solid stability. I live and breathe stability & am the incarnation of such activity. Wait until you see what I have in store for you, you will be back. In your journey I wish you the best of luck, you will be back. Damn steered you back to windows. NTL you will be back.
I hate to be a dick, but I have been stoked wrong so many times I am going to bring it to you. I do not care if you prefer mint etc. I will be what makes them at least “work”.
We can talk about it later. Cocky or confident? Half of your problem is you are running windows 😉 I have been told never seen it, “impact” is a program you may be interested in. Google it.

Hello TheeMahn
I would like to thank you again for all that you have done.
I know your cup is full.
With the economy, your job and no free time, and all the bad remarks on the last version of EU.
And most of all with every thing that happen to you in the past year.
If this is to be the last bit of productivity on the greatest OS .
And I mean it throughly !!! you do what you have to do.
But most of all .
To tell the world that we support you in any decision that you do.
You have done more for the FOSS in past few years, what a OS should be like.
So much more then others.
Others have made advances in Linux OS, but you all ways have the determination to make it work.
And most do not see that Linux in it’s prime is open, and to be used by all, in collaboration.
That means everyone shares code, everyone benefits, and everyone learns.
SO HERE IS TO A GREAT MENTOR MR. GLENN CADY.

Thank you for the kind comments. I am about to write a post about what I have been doing. I am always looking to advance your O/S.
