You want results?

by on Oct.14, 2017, under Ultimate Edition

I have people riding my rump, wanting a O/S and they evidently do not care how they get it. I am one man, I may be TheeMahn, but just one man. I know you would love nothing more than to see results. We are talking Petabytes of traffic, should I not invest time in production of a Operating System? I have enhanced tools, not good enough? I am simultaneously writing a second Operating System for our upcoming server which I will order this coming Friday.

1U Supermicro Server 2 x AMD Opteron 6272 16 Core (Total 32 Cores) 24GB, I can jack in 5 of them calm down please. I need to take care of multiple aspects a server version of Ultimate Edition is in works. Only a $51 Billion dollar industry, I am used to it.

Big things are coming, please calm down. I do not plan on dying tomorrow. Let me work my magic.

New server rack, thanks donors!

by on Sep.09, 2017, under Ultimate Edition

6u Server rack.

Today (Saturday 09/09/17) our server rack has arrived. Thanks donors. I did buy a 24 port 1U gigabit managed switch off Ebay a few weeks back. Shipping cost more then twice the switch itself lol. Networking gear is evidently heavy. We are just warming up. I am looking at also purchasing a 1U or even a 2U server to enter the rack, depending on my cash flow. I can not afford a AMD Eypc, 2 grand for just one CPU. Intel side of things is 12 grand for just the CPU. I have been looking at Dual CPU AMD Opterons (32 cores) or a 2U 4 X 16 core AMD Opteron (64 cores) to build our Operating System forward. We have no shortage in hard disk space. I have not did the math, but I am sure we have greater than 50 Terabytes of redundant archival storage. I am writing software to provide redundancy & actually have been for a long time (unreleased currently). Eventually, I would like all “In house building” of Operating Systems.

Instead of beating on my Ryzen rig pound on my server for exactly what you want to your specifications. You will have to give me a minute on this one. It is coming.

Moving software forward.

by on Sep.02, 2017, under Ultimate Edition

I have built TMOSB (TheeMahn’s O/S Builder) forward. This is the same application I used to build the three Alpha Operating Systems in a day & 2 more today, that “Just work” A Gnome version and Enlightenment version today. I will not release either Operating Systems. Build your own Operating System using the application I am providing. πŸ˜‰

To the best of my knowledge the largest Linux application to walk the net. Please feel free to correct me. Very complicated app, and I need to write a more comprehensive man page / PDF for it. As a matter of fact there is no documentation for tmmount one of 6 or is it 7 applications in tmosb? I will spend the time rectifying that down the road.

How many O/S will it build?

No wonder, I bought a 6U Server Rack will be here Sept 12th, thanks Donors.
I do not care if you have 128 CPU cores Ultimate Edition will utilize no matter how many cores / CPUS to near 100%:

The 6U server rack I purchased was initially bought for a 1U 26 port Gigabit network switch to populate my entire home. I also have a 24 port 100 Megabit 2U & have 0 intentions of using, however the rack will be fully populated in the end. I intend to have a AMD Epyc building O/S’s for us on the rack in house. Money is the factor, we will see. In 5.5 Months I will get a mass pay raise as child support goes away. One way or the other we will have it.

Lets ponder the situation:

I look forward to serving you. Please feel free to donate or wait 5.5 months.

Cutting edge?

by on Aug.31, 2017, under Ultimate Edition

Want to see cutting edge? Took the day off work it is a holiday weekend to assist you the end user. I built 3 Operating Systems today and had full intention of building a fourth. If I would have built a fourth it would have indeed be a record for me. I will have to enhance software for the fourth. Writing software takes time, I have already started enhancing such said software TMOSB (Theemahn’s Operating System Builder).

This is a Alpha, to me means expect problems on a mass scale. I have been running it longer then sourceforge has any log of it’s existence. I also find it ironic that that the xfce version of the Alpha has been downloaded 0 times and I downloaded it to verify md5sum on the day of it’s release from your perspective.

I want to take a second for you to understand there is not currently a Linux based O/S on this planet that has support as this one does. I deved the package I know. We are far from a final product, but will be a LTS (Long Term Supported). I do highly suggest you check it out. Run it like me? I do not see issues, however your mileage may vary. Where do you get it today?

My day in no particular order:

I look forward to your feedback.

Alpha is garbage…

by on Aug.25, 2017, under Ultimate Edition

A beta could be a day or two away, or I could wait until it is actually there. I will say this in deliberation. I am not only running it, I built what you can download today off of it. I probably should have called it beta. Only a term of stability, we DO NOT have a final release & will NOT have a webpage until we have those factors.

I get to spend my day tomorrow setting up a projection screen via monster HDMI cable & isolating it from weather to project movies onto my garage, very little will progress for this weekend.

I however, will not leave you out for those that want to test. I am not even going to show you screenies etc. I am not going to post to anti-social media, our forum etc. We go under the radar.

You are Welcome No where in this entire post does it say what we are dealing with. Enjoy NTL

A Perfect LTS on the way?

by on Jul.29, 2017, under Ultimate Edition

Alot of work goes into a LTS (Long Term Supported) release. I have spent a great chunk of my time writing TMOSB to automate building of Ultimate Edition 5.7, and will not be good enough.

building Ultimate Edition 5.7

Many broken packages, not beyond me to fix. Today, I had to remove software I wrote to rectify issues in the past. I question if they utilize software I write to find their bugs. In the past I tried to tell them, for lack of a better word they Loathe me, because I take their people millions at a time. They have 1000’s that work for them, however you can not beat automation in software. I can not wait for AI (Artificial Intelligence) to take over my job. Sorry to toss the term Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) they have a cube that exceeds Human Intelligence. Things are a bought to go off the chain within a year or 2.

I may have sold all my stock in AMD, I have money coming from the same purpose. I have thought what do I actually need? Down the road perhaps, currently nothing. I may take the time and repostorm Ultimate Edition 5.7. Highly unlikely if a AI based CPU can do it for me. I talked about this years ago on our forums. We will see & time will tell.

RyZen in the House!!!

by on Jun.16, 2017, under Ultimate Edition

Let me start by placing thanks.  Thanks to Poweruser2600 for the RX470 MSI Gaming 8GB card on the cheap (does 4K gaming just fine).  Thanks Finetuch for the Ryzen 1700X on the cheap.  AMD and Bob for shares in AMD for free.

Well I did say I was going to get a new Ryzen system complements of AMD, sold 100 Shares of AMD last Thursday & a new Rig has magically appeared.  Ultimate Edition 5.4 worked off the rip, only thing I currently can’t get working is the USB 3.1 Type-C (Works on USB 3.0).  I am working on it for Ultimate Edition 5.5, which I built in break neck speed & have not even began over clocking it:

This Operating System was auto generated using:
TheeMahn’s O/S Builder (tmosb) 1.9.9, 05/04/2017

Be sure to include the word tmosb somewhere in the Subject: field.

Ryzen 7 Build

SSD & Thumb

12 TB Raid 10gbps

2 X 6TB drives

On water!

Rocking NVME

The fastest computer I have EVER sit behind.  I can only imagine what a AMD Threadripper will be like coming next month.  I asked for a Naples err Epyc from AMD by the wifey’s request & they never got back with me a $4000.00 chip. I do own & others. We will see how things go.

AMD got a 32 Million dollar grant from the Govt to make Exascale CPUS 2 days ago, maybe I got out AMD stock way too early.  I guess it does not matter, I am not greedy.

Finally got the second 6 TB to show up and raid 0 it, unfortunately was in Windows that I got it recognized and formatted:

30+ TB

Building Ultimate Edition 5.5, I am sure even with a Threadripper or Epyc would utilize all cores.  The difference being is the speed in which it gets it done, massive difference between the 8 core that I had.  Benjamin_Breeg now has my old 8 core, board and ram.

Big things are coming.

TheeMahn is upset

by on Apr.29, 2017, under Ultimate Edition

I too enjoy playing with new technology. I watch the realms of people flow to Ultimate Edition 5.4. Long term supported (LTS), should at that point be kicked to the curb? I can see multiple stats that ensure I am right. I have been saying this since Ultimate Edition 2.6. I am as well as beta testers are looking to “Refresh” the Ultimate Edition 5.0 series. LTS, means very little to most at least by numbers. Do you feel I should not support LTS? I have been asked about rolling releases. By rolling back to Ultimate Edition 5.0.1 I have found a bug in my nasup software to detect and automatically pick up NAS (Network Attached Storage) that I have written initially started writing in 2012. Most will not care about it. Re-wrote it & loved it in Ultimate Edition 5.4, did absolutely everything I asked. Rolling back to 5.0.1 even with the new version fails. There is no way I would have known that, but stepping back.

In 2014, “Seagate” loved it so much they borrowed my code. I am O.K. with it it is open source, however they should have gave me at least acknowledgement.

I am going to continue to the LTS side of things. Do I need to set up a poll. Does not matter what I want. It is about you the end user. We have Millions on board, only way to move to Billions is a poll? Naturally, faster servers also coincide. We will work though this. A Prick I have been, we will build the O/S for you. I have been doing this for greater then 10 years. Software development since I was 11, 35 years ago.

Am I wasting my time?

05/13/17: Adjusted pre-requsites
I am running Ultimate Edition 4.2.4, had zero access to NAS(Network Attactched Storage) drives. While it did pick up the drive, would not allow me to login. nfs-common was missing, re-write the control file and in seconds I have my NFS based 8TB hard drive hard mounted. This is why I care, It may work for some, not all.

I have moved forward on Nasup to version 1.9.9, even wrote you fellas a manual.

If you would like to learn more about Nasup. You can learn more on our forum. I have considered writing it further to detect and pick up Linux based NAS’s Time is not on my side. Let’s see if Western Digital “Borrows” my code as well πŸ˜‰

I am adjusting tmosb (TheeMahn’s Operating System Builder) to accept version 5.0.3 a LTS is currently not treated the same way. I have written undocumented switches to “work around” the issue, digging though & rectifying such issues, I have my hands full. We will have both, Software supports building Ultimate Edition 5.7 (“Artful Aardvark”) even though Ubuntu has not set it place. LTS is my current concentration. Software is the answer. It may take me a minute, we will have both. I have got this, please allocate me the time. Did you know tmosb is the largest application on the internet currently? There are larger games, not apps. Another manpage I will have to write, probably 100 pages long. As complexity grows, so does loss in users. Simplicity was set in nasup. There is no simplicity in building Operating Systems.

I hope to eventually have a amdnaples Building software for you autonomously. Server environment is huge, yes I own the previous website. a $51 Billion dollar industry #38 on google last check & it is not even out. I will be #1, can you imagine the value? They can offer me 50 Million and will not accept it. Great to have a guy on the positive? I have never been about money. Why did you buy it? Feel free to answer that question for me.

AMD Naples

by on Apr.24, 2017, under Ultimate Edition

As most of you know, I have stock in AMD (Advanced Micro Devices). I am not hiding that fact in any way shape or form. What is a AMD Naples? A nasty fast Dual Socket CPU that is coming soon for the server market & fully intends to take some of Intels TAM (Total Addressable Market) which Intel current holds 99% server market. I have read is a $50 Billion dollar industry just in that niche. AMD is striking and has, the CPU Market as well as GPU market. Many other things are also in the pipeline.

I have purchased pr-emtively getting my ducks in a row to create a Ultimate Edition for the Linux scene server side. Does not mean I will not build Operating Systems for Intel Servers. Huge potential, once I SEO (Search Engine Optimize) the site, I have a long ways to go, I just bought it April 22nd. The chip won’t be out until the 2nd half to this year, I have time. You can almost bet money I get a AMD Naples for free to set up a server for you gentlemen. Let’s stay tuned on that last statement.

I will tell you this as a fact. I will unload 100 of 4,430 shares in AMD shortly to assist in purchase of a RyZen 1800X, mainboard etc. to replace the JackHammer liquid cooled (which I already have). I did look at getting a Liquid cooled Pro Duo video card ($799 vid card). I have a MSI 470 Gaming X 8GB card (thanks PowerUser 2600 will do 4k gaming). AMD Vega, same with the Pro Duo I am sure will be much faster in all accounts. I am not a big Gamer nor fan of NVidia. Where I am heading is is #1 productivity, occasional game. I have not had Windows installed on my rig for about a year to put things in perspective.

I will be busy for a minute. If you Google “Ultimate Edition” are we not #1? 0 paid ads. Does Microsoft not make a “Ultimate Edition”? 80% of SEO is in the name, #1 is coming for the server market. Understand this fully, I have been writing software since I was 11 and now I am 46. SEO since 2006. Big things are coming.
