Gamers
Well, now let’s learn
by TheeMahn on Mar.04, 2010, under Gamers, Linux, Ubuntu, Ultamatix, Ultimate Edition
On like Donkey Kong, perhaps I seem old school. Learn from your new Master. People get squeamish thinking talking to thousands at a time sorry for the delay. He has full intentions of fully encompassing the load. I intend to allow all admin to drop posts here. How many do you think accept the job? Puts the knot in the belly.
I look forward to wiping you all out on a little urban terror. Then again what do I know? Did I have a speech class? I may shortly be attending college (a piece of paper, and maybe I can educate the professor). Should you not know TheeMahn? I have large fish to fry. We also have Admin on board, let them speak their mind & I am talking here. It is coming. Millions at a time, billions I do not care, should they? I spent time setting up the server, don’t think you wont see me whacking you on there. Then again how many servers do we have? Get me out of the Lime light, they can have it. I prefer to sit behind the scenes and give you Ultimate Edition 2.6, do not think it will not be fully tested. I know my job & I do have many.
TheeMahn,
Any Gamers in the house?
by TheeMahn on Feb.19, 2010, under Gamers, Hosting, Ubuntu, Ultimate Edition
As promised; We have our own dedicated Urban Terror Server up (this was not free) & rocking the house, thanks to finetuch. He will be accepting donations to help absorb the costs involved. You will be able to read his official announcement on his website http://ultimateurbanterror.info in a few days. I have administered the sites to split the server load (7 servers will handle the load overall) to keep ping time down on the gaming server. You can read about that on our forum, you can also learn how to connect to it from there it is fast & would like to give some credit to psybergaming.net
A few things I have learned testing the gaming server… Xfire really has crawled under my skin with their lack of Linux support. 4 years of it, read all 17 pages from there. I won’t leave our gaming users out in the cold. On a lighter note, I have created a newer urban-terror-extra-maps version 0.0.3 those using Ultimate Edition 2.4 Gamers it will automatically be upgraded, it is huge, bigger then the game itself & covers a vast majority of Urban Terror users.
Just so you do not think all I have been doing is playing games, in which I have enjoyed. I have dropped Ultimate Edition 2.6 Alpha to admin, mods and beta testers. It has received a warm welcome. I have also been doing a bunch of hardware work, including upgrading / building (undecided currently) the PC that will eventually build Ultimate Edition 2.6 final, both are fast.
USB 3.0 / Sata III is new technology, while first available for Linux is not w/o issue. With this upgrade allows me to be more productive. I really do not want to get into the details, however the same mainboard / cpu that previously built Ultimate Edition will be auctioned on ebay. Sorry for the amount, Quad Core & Quad Crossfire it is no slouch & quite the gaming rig. Worth $300 probably not; sentimental priceless. Still works like a champ.
I hope to see you on our gaming server.

Ultimate Edition Gamers

We have a new gamers; many have been snagging w/o a official announcement (90 ppl before it was even finished uploading), now consider it official. Let me explain what it is.
I took Ultimate Edition 2.4 installed 255 updates / upgrades. I then installed a new theme “Lava”, installed Urban Terror, and a map pack I have written for it.
Well that does not sound like much of a gamers edition does it? Ultamatix will provide you 46 additional games soon to be 49. In case you did not catch that a new Ultamatix is also coming. I can only cram so much on a DVD. Why Urban Terror?
Finetuch is going to pay for a dedicated Urban Terror server so us UE users can beat the tar out of each other
You can read and learn more about that here. I look forward to beating a few of you down myself. Please pay close attention to architecture when downloading. I do want to point out I no longer run windows; why? I kept it around for games; I have no use for it anymore. When I am done you will as well.
A few shots for you, note all shots are off a live USB stick:
Sorry to spend an extra day have what will be our urban terror server http://ultimateurbanterror.info. Finetuch is your admin there. I will whack a few of you for sure. A free for all is coming. I can personally unleash stress there. Wait until it is officially set up, you will quickly understand. Sick puppies tells me one of us is going down. I will not accept anything short of a 1 to 1 ratio, I will earn it.
Enjoy ladies & gents,
TheeMahn

Ultimate Edition 2.3 Gamers has been released…
by TheeMahn on Sep.21, 2009, under Gamers, Linux, Ubuntu, Ultimate Edition
Note: All ISO downloading from “MAIN” have been disabled due to being on Distrowatch’s homepage & Softpedia’s Linux homepage; 29 people per second were trying to download "Gamers" nearly knocking us offline. They will be re-enabled once the traffic resumes a normal level. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please use a mirror.
10/03/09: The server has now resumed normal operations, we are now no longer on the homepages of the above. While this may sound like Oh no, to me a relief
I may write a post about what was the true cause of the issue, “Welcome to the Cloud”. Now for the original post:
I am not going to make a huge deal out of this, but it certainly is a nice toy. Especially for you gamers out there. I will copy the details as sent to my admin / mods & mirrors, because I feel lazy today

Ultimate Edition Gamers?
by TheeMahn on Sep.16, 2009, under Gamers, Linux, Ubuntu, Ultimate Edition
A day late and a dollar short, count on a gamers edition it is coming it is Jaunty based. It is uploading as I type, I have slacked long enough. I do not want to put a “Release date” on when I release it; 20 hours just for me to upload it, you know admin & mirrors have first stab right? I have not even md5sum’d it yet minus locally. I have written software I can MD5SUM it right on the server saves me hours of downloading. It is 4 GB I will tell you that; I will also tell you a new tool is included. I seen what this tool can do. Windows / nix barrier starts to crumble as far as games.
I watched Poweruser2600 demonstrate this tool to me & was solidly impressed as he played Battlefield on his solid nix system. I will mirror this software on our repository. It does not end there, a game of Fallout 3 on nix? My game by the way. The list of games perhaps endless. Cedega and their “subscription”, charging you monthly seems to fade away. Don’t think Ultamatix will not ensure this.
Poweruser, once again by the way, is my nix software man. Wait and see them (the creator) go through the roof. If I find something evolutionary I love to bring it to your attention. I will do so when I release Ultimate Edition 2.3 Gamers (it is built in). Oh, I am sorry it will do Office & other apps, this is a gamers post right? Please stand by for details…
TheeMahn
